Laura has been painting full time for about nine years and her contemporary style has become one of the more easily recognizable of current Irish artists. She has cited her influences artists such as Constable and Cezanne, although it is the influence of Turner which is probably the most apparent in her current works. "I have always painted colour, energy and vibrancy." In this regard, Laura Mulligan is not dissimilar to the great Irish
expressionist Anne Madden. Like Madden, it is impossible to capture the energy the wildness or the serenity in words.
