Shane Gilmore is an artist (sculptur) from Co.Clare. He works predominantly in stone and wood. His public sculptures can be viewed in Liscannor where the bronze sculpture of the submarine inventor Holland is postioned and Ennistymon where the limestone carving of the Poet Merriman is located. More of his sculptures are located in Sixmilebridge and in Ennis.
He studied Fine Art in the Limerick College of Art and Design where he spacialized in Printmaking before discovering his love of the medium of sculpture.
He lives in Maurices Mills where he creates his sculptures in his workshop.
