Born in Co. Armagh, Hugh Thompson has been painting for over 35 years. He paints in the classic impressionist style, often sketching in the field in watercolor and uses these studies to complete larger works
in the studio using oils on canvas. A prolific artist, Thompson produces exhibition numbers of a given subject frequently recalling the work of the late Paul Henry.
He paints the land and sky in Ireland, Canada, America and Europe, enjoying the Great Salon style of exhibition.
