The Dublin born artist is a graduate of the National College of Art & Design. He spent the early part of his career as a ceramicist, before entering the world of theatre as a set designer.
His passion for three dimensional design has strongly influenced the paintings, in which he uses a combination of plaster and paint in heavy impasto style. They evoke the tangible earthiness of the landscape and the dramatic movement of the sea. John's work draws the viewer into each piece through the masterful use of texture, colour and form in an emotive and illuminating manner.
