Anna Hurley
uses thick layers of paint applied with a palette knife to add the depth and texture that identifies her paintings. She cultivates an unlimited range of subject matter, encompassing people, colours, shadows, buildings, sports activities, coastal cottages as well as surrealistic dream sequences using oil on canvas as her medium of choice. While admiring masters as diverse as Hockney, Dali and Rousseau, Anna finds no lack of inspiration, drawing
on her untiring imagination and visual memory to suggest images, particularly of West Clare.
