Peg Quinlan
Artist Profile

Drawing, painting and all types of art work have been a part of Peg’s life since early childhood. It is what she’s always wanted to do. When it came time to decide how her love of art would be expressed, and thinking to choose a more practical outlet, she earned a degree in fashion design. Peg worked successfully in that field for many years.

Painting, however, was always her first love. Influenced throughout her life by the work of the impressionists, especially Turner, Monet and Morrisot, she returned to her studies at the Cork College of Art. She would by then have made the transition to painting full time and has never turned back. Flowers and landscapes have been her main subjuect matter with an occasional abstract reflecting the color of nature.

Peg paints in oil, watercolour and pastel. She loves to paint and enjoys sharing with others the view of the world that she experiences. Quinlan, who also teaches painting, has the distinction of having lectured at the National Gallery by invitation. She is a member of several art societies and has exhibited widely throughout Ireland, mounting many solo shows and group exhibitions. Her paintings are to be found in private and corporate collections throughout the world.
